My work takes many medial forms. The common thread that passes through them all is laboriousness. The repetitive Sisyphean aspect acts as a ritual of sort, without the possibility for absolution.

Often, while beginning a new piece I am driven by the need to be in an uncomfortable situation where I might lose control. Other times the end result might seem to have a pleasant aesthetics, while beneath the surface the works deal with disturbing subject matters. This produces a certain tension between form and idea which allows me to be both "normal" and perverse, feminine and masculine, perfect and broken, all at the same time.
